I gained my BA (Hons) Degree in Illustration from the University of Kingston in 1999.

Using visual art as a way to communicate has been my continual professional focus, and many well-known clients including HarperCollins, Bloomsbury, Daylesford Organic and Abercrombie & Kent, to name just a few, have sought out my services.

In 2020 I decided to dedicate a greater amount of time to painting for its own sake, to interpret my skills in a different medium and to push my creativity in new directions.

My objective when I paint is not to limit myself to a particular outcome but to embrace a more inquisitive approach, conveying a joyful sense of colour and freedom.

Creating and evolving my abstract and landscape painting practice, has brought my art to new audiences, notably selling most of the work exhibited at my first solo show in November 2021.

My work is created by building up the surface in a series of layers, combining thick strokes of acrylic paint with thinner glazes. Using all kinds of tools, I rework and refine over a matter of hours, days or sometimes weeks so that richness, depth and texture become an intrinsic part of each painting.

I like to work on landscape paintings alongside abstract pieces.

It means that landscapes can form themselves into abstract marks and abstration evokes landscapes.

Having lived and worked for over a decade in both London and Brighton, I am now based in the market town of Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire, where I continue to work on illustration commissions alongside my daily painting practice in my home studio space.

My second solo exhibition is scheduled for August 2022 at Grain No.1, located on Castlegate in the heart of Newark.
